Summer Camp
The ASL Summer Camp is geared towards children ages 8-12 (exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis). The beginner class does not require any prior ASL experience. The intermediate camp requires completion of the beginner camp or previous experience with ASL. Students will be engaged in activities related to learning American Sign Language and Deaf Culture throughout their time at camp.
Daily lessons will include vocabulary building related to themes. This is a sample schedule of what to expect:

Monday: Alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, emotions
Tuesday: Animals: Farm, Zoo, Pets
Wednesday: Sports/hobbies/recreation
Thursday: Food, Days of the Week, Holidays, Time
Friday: Family, Around the house and Community

Each day will include introduction to vocabulary, activity/games to reinforce what was learned, Deaf culture lesson/experience, movement/play time, and song.

Camp is scheduled from 9:00-12:00 at various parks around Santa Barbara and Goleta.
